“Rachel made me feel at ease by highlighting what Rue was communicating.”
“Taking onboard her insight, I was pretty quickly able to take Rue out without him being quite so reactive. Rachel’s knowledge is incredible. By using modern day training methods, she helped me, make my dog’s life better. My only regret is that I didn’t get in touch sooner!”

I’m Rachel Gales
The owner of The Dog’s Whiskers, a Dog Trainer (IMDT accredited) and also a Dog Behaviourist (with a distinction in a Canine Behaviour Level 5 from Compass Education, which is an ABTC recognised course).
Since 2018, I’ve been acquiring qualifications in canine behaviour and dog training. Whilst studying and passing examinations I have been developing my practical skills with dogs.
Why does that matter? This means that you benefit from my considerable depth and breadth of knowledge and skills that I have when you work with me. You can be absolutely certain that I will always act with integrity and prioritise your dog’s welfare.
I genuinely care about you and your dog. I will provide the individual support that you both need.
Still not sure if we’d be a good fit?
We’ll make a good team if:
You really love your dog and respect them – so you want to use kind, positive, force free methods that will help your dog to feel confident and secure.
You’re tired of getting conflicting advice or being told to use methods that just don’t “feel right” to you. You absolutely want to work with an educated, qualified, ethical professional.
You are committed to continuing to invest in your dog. The time and resources.
You want support to help you and your dog. You appreciate that caring for a dog can be challenging but you’re ready to work with someone with plenty of experience, to encourage you through the highs and lows.
You are dedicated to understanding your dog, who they are and what really motivates them.
You want a successful, fulfilling life and relationship with your dog.
“Rachel has been a valued volunteer with the kennel team for several years.”
“She works with the team providing quality emotional support and behavioural training to our dogs during their stay whilst they wait for a new home. Rachel has worked with a range of breed types, life stages and training needs, expanding her experience over the years.”
